Depending on the initiation of a stabilized peace process and the great increase in its petroleum income, Sudan has one of the most rapidly developing economy in the world.
The government in Sudan, which is a gigantic country with its 26 states, has already put many projects into practice to expand their transportation network. In the country where a significant source is allocated for the rehabilitation of highways, railways and ports, a 50.000 km highway and 5.500 km railway network is available.
Direct Transportation to 26 states
In Sudan where public transportation plays a significant role, majority of vehicles are old and out of use. The need for the equipments utilized in sea, land, air and railway transportation to deliver the materials required in infra and superstructure works, which increase due to the rapid development in economy, and the commercial goods to 26 states, is increasing day by day. As transportation has come forward, the importation of medium and heavy-duty vehicles and its supply industry become more important.
Utilization of low capacity in production
In Sudan, transportation vehicles are produced on assembly lines located in the industry zone which is of public property and named as GIAD.
In the traffic, mainly the automobiles made in Japan, Korea and India such as Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Daewoo and Tata draw attention. Even though a few of other European automobiles can also be seen in the traffic.
Doubled increase in automobiles in a year
While the number of vehicles in the capital city Khartoum increased two times in the previous year, Renault, Man, Mercedes, Volvo, Iveco, Scania, Temsa and Tata autobuses and trucks are still on the market in Sudan.
Support of 26 states for the expo
Sudan Transport-07 to be established on a total indoor and outdoor area of 15.000 square meters will be realized in 2 halls and on outdoor area. The fair which may be visited by the authorities and businessmen from Sudan and neighbouring countries, will be open during 10:00-13:00 and 17:00-22:00. The fair is also supported by Sudan Ministry of Transportation and Sudan Ministry of Investment.
A Gigantic Market of 375 million
Sudan which is a member of Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa -COMESA, will be the leading base over a gigantic geography having a population of 375 million in terms of benefiting from customs duty exemptions.
