SA Automotive Week, Port Elizabeth, South Africa,
3 - 7 October 2007
“The South African Automotive Week, provides a powerful forum for national and international industry role players to deliberate around the state of the industry on the African continent with a view to exploring and growing markets and opportunities in Africa.”
Spiraling domestic demand (at record levels) for vehicle and vehicle components and accessories, together with a low manufacturing cost base and access to world markets, has placed Africa under the spotlight as both a potential manufacturing base and market.
Economies in most of the countries in the region are growing, and there is an increasing need for the full range of motorised transport, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, trucks, tractors and motorcycles.
Within the next few years South Africa alone is projected to manufacture and sell over 1 million vehicles a year.
